Robert J. Brewer was born and raised in Kentucky where he went to the University of Kentucky majoring in American Studies. Brewer graduated from the Art Institute of Chicago with an MFA in Photography. His two main subjects have been the churches and rural scenes of Northern New Mexico, providing a clear picture of small town life and the role of the church in the community through many generations.
