New Mexico Art Tells its History

Contemporary Architecture

John Gaw Meem’s influence and Santa Fe Style is still a part of contemporary architecture in New Mexico, especially in the northern part of the state. However, many different styles of architecture exist in New Mexico today. Postmodernism has meant more freedom for architects to express themselves and to be influenced by a wide variety of styles. The land, space, sky, light and the history of New Mexico continue to inspire contemporary architects.
